The Kaurareg Aboriginal Land Trust intends on participating in selected UN Partnerships that further its objectives which include but is not limited to: The Land Trust is formed for the purposes as set out in the Regulation and will act as custodian for the land comprised within Deed of Grant No.40037428 on behalf of the Aboriginal people for whom it is held and will manage and administer the Land in accordance with Aboriginal Law and Custom. It will undertake to relieve the disadvantage, distress, dispossession, lack of housing and employment opportunities, poverty, ill health and suffering of the Kaurareg People by pursuing all appropriate means including contributing to the cultural, social and economic well-being and development of the Kaurareg People. |
Affiliation with other organizations: |
Australian Institute on Tropical Health Medicine, where the Land Trust is contributing to the planning and development of a world-class tropical health and research facility on its traditional lands. The Kaurareg Aboriginal Land Trust is currently engaged in inviting interested Melanesian peoples in the region commonly known as Melanesia, for their involvement in what the Land Trust refers to as the Land Bridge for cultural reinvigoration including trade activities. The Land Bridge is the term loosely given to this network venture, whose eventual nomenclature inclusive of all its participants will emerge as circumstances for it become evident amongst its participants. |
