Purpose of the organization: FEPS embodies a new way of thinking on the social democratic, socialist and labour scene both within Europe and beyond European borders. Our main purpose is to nourish a fresh progressive dialogue through our research on social development and social policies, including in the areas of reduction of inequalities, employment generation and social integration.

Description of the membership of the organization, indicating the total number of members: Description of the membership of FEPS (Full & Consultative members) The Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) consists of Full and Consultative members. Currently FEPS has 45 Full members and 12 Consultative members. Full members have the right to attend the General Assembly with the right of expression and the right to vote. Consultative members have the right to attend the General Assembly with the right of expression but without the right to vote. Full members of the Party of European Socialists (PES), the PES and the national political foundations and think tanks close to the PES or PES member parties may become Full members of FEPS. All parties and organisations respecting the political objectives and aims of FEPS, notably the principles on which the European Union is based and of strengthening progressive thinking in the Union and throughout Europe may become a Consultative member of FEPS.
