Involvement in UN Partnerships: Yes
If yes, explain in detail: Since 2017, after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and Collegiate Congress (CCI). The organization namely the Collegiate Congress has been involved in the work of the United Nations. It should be noted that the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is a training arm of the United Nations System, and has the mandate to enhance the effectiveness of the UN through diplomatic training, and to increase the impact of national actions through public awareness-raising, education, training of public policy officials. The Institute covers topics in the broad areas of supporting capacity building for the 2013 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Strengthening of Multilateralism among other tasks. In 2018, both Institutions have worked together to coordinate a Programme entitled ‘’ the International Relations and Global Diplomacy Program’’ such initiative was organized in partnership between the United Nations Institute for Training and Research along with the Collegiate Congress, and have developed a curriculum that sees a brighter future through diplomacy. This newly-designed program allows participants to listen to and learn about international relations and politics from those actively engaged in these fields — the diplomats themselves. Envisioned for students currently enrolled in Political Science, International Relations, Urban Affairs, or a similar academic program, the desire to better understand world affairs is a must. The Programme provides the rare opportunity for students to learn about diplomacy from diplomats themselves. Although there is no shortage of courses on global politics and policies, few (if any) provides this education through the context of first-hand experience – experience the United Nations is uniquely situated to provide. Through this method students will gain an understanding of current global issues, and of the shape of things to come – on the scene, as they happen.
