Purpose of the organization: Through its research work, GRADE provides critical and independent analysis thereby contributing to a better understanding of current affairs in Peru and Latin America. As a result of these academic contributions, GRADE is able to enrich debate and improve the design and implementation of a broad range of public policy. According to a knowledge production goal oriented to motivate country and regional development, our research frames around three bases, in which gather the professional experience, knowledge and interests of our researchers: Human development, Productive development and Institutions for the development. In the first case, our studies addresses health, nutrition and education issues identifying lacks, inequities and the policies and programmes to motivate human development mainly in childhood and the population in general. Within the Productive development area, we address issues like the impact of policies and programmes associated with rural sector and mining situation, also infrastructure, labor market and micro enterprise issues, around others. Finally, the third main base focusses on decentralization issues, state reform and in general around the identification and promotion of public and civil institutions needed for development.
