The Foundation holds oficial relaitons with PAHO (specific agreement and work plan for prevention and control of neglected diseases and implementation activities in the Framework for the Elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV, Siphylis, Hepatitis B and Chagas - ETMI Plus).
With WHO joint collaboration in the field of Neglected tropical diseases, participation in advosiry and experts groups, and joint work to make an essential antiparasitic medicine for treatment of Chagas disease widely accessible to children. In 2015 the Foundation has successfully led a consortium which granted treatment accessibility of Chagas Disease by ensuring supply, since it production had been suspended. In August 2017 that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved benznidazole for the treatment of children aged 2–12. The approval facilitates delivery of treatment to hundreds of thousands of people. |
