To promote gender equality and to empower Nigerian women, economically, we launched the Ugwumba Women Development Academy in 2020. The Network has established chapters in the 36 States of Nigeria plus the FCT. Annually, the Network convenes the Ugwumba Women's Conference to mark the International Women's Day on the 8th of March of every year. In 2022, the Ugwumba Leadership Center further launched the U-Fund for Women, a microgrants program targeted at women in the rural areas, who are struggling to grow their micro and small businesses and to support their families.
In 2022, we recorded a membership of over 10,000 women in the Ugwumba Women Academy Network, who benefit from our leadership and enterprise development programs. |
