Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: * Promotion of (II) International and 31 national meetings to prepare the groups to monitor AIDS and SRH commitments at international and national levels, intensifying collaboration and articulation among regional, national and local networks active in the field of HIV/AIDS and women. * Support meaningful participation of the community sector in the policy decision making processes at the national level , related to the commitments contained in the UNGASS-AIDS goals with the objective of achieving universal access for women and girls. * Strengthen the capacity of women living with HIV/AIDS and communities groups to conduct advocacy and enable them to interact with other social movements thereby fostering more intense articulation among feminist movements and women living with HIV/AIDS. The activities included capacity building and the creation of strategies to mobilize the community for actions of promotion, research surveys and monitoring actions in 12 countries, as well global level advocacy. GESTOS role was to mobilize these countries, provide technical support and help them to identify key-opportunities of political incidence at country and global levels. In order to strengthen the communication between partners of the project, and among the countries, and to disseminate the results obtained as widely as possible, many communication and media strategies were implemented. • E-mail discussion lists were created: – One international (ungass_international@yahoogroups.com); one regional for Latin America (ungass_lac@yahoogroups.com), as well country-based e-mail lists in Brazil, Belize, Kenya, Uganda, Indonesia and Thailand. These spaces are permanently active and are used to share information, news, data about the advocacy work that countries are doing, like meetings with ministries, AIDS commissions and strategic partners, etc. • Blog (ungassforum.wordpress.com), is used to disseminate news and countries information, as well to permit partners and people interested to comment, discuss and use its content in a local and international basis. • Website: In June 2010 we launched the website (www.ungassforum.org) to bring together and publicize all the information regarding UNGASS – AIDS monitoring project, the full content of our researches, the UN discussions and documentation and the reports prepared by the countries. Montly views by March, 2011 were about the average of a 1.000 visits. • Newsletter: In 2010 it was published every 45 days (in English and Spanish). Both Gestos and the partners have written notes, articles and news to provide inputs to the communications vehicles of the project (website, newsletter, blog.), preferably on critical and representative issues of their local realities. These newsletters have been sent to UN organisms, country governments, regional organisms, etc. The central subject of the newsletter is SRH&R and AIDS, focusing on the projects actions. • Mailing list: The project now is managing a mailing of government representatives, civil society, UN agencies and other relevant people that the countries considered interesting to include in this communication strategy. This list is meat for sharing information and disseminating the newsletter, but only project members from NGOs, nowadays around 800 organizations are included in the e-mail discussion lists. • Twitter: We are also using twitter (@forumungassaids) for spreading widely the relevant information. www.ungassforum.org
