Sustainable Development

Affiliation with other organizations: STUF is affiliated with Generosity Water, an organization that aims to end clean water crisis around the world by investing in sustainable clean water solution in developing countries.

Social Development

Affiliation with other organizations: 1. STUF is affiliated with Cherish Uganda, a NGO based in Wakiso District, Uganda with a mission to change the lives of children living with HIV/AIDS. 2. STUF is affiliated with Taiwan Exquisite Culture and Education, a group that provides English and computer education to children and youth in urban and rural areas of Cambodia. 3. STUF is affiliated with International Leadership Foundation, committed in its mission to promote the civic awareness, public service, and economic effectiveness of the Asian-Pacific American (APA) community.
Purpose of the organization: STUF is dedicated to promoting and supporting charitable causes in the fields of charity relief, culture, education, public health, and environmental protection. We support projects around the world and aim to help consolidate and distribute resources to ensure a more powerful social impact.
Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: (1) In April 2013, STUF began its partnership with Cherish Uganda, a group based in Uganda that aims to change the lives of children with HIV/AIDS. This partnership is to collaboratively develop construction and equipping of Hope Hospital that will provide high-quality, accessible healthcare to individuals living in impoverished communities of Wakiso District. STUF is the largest single funding partner for this project and accepts responsibility for 50% of the overall building and equipment costs for the proposed Hope Hospital Phase 1. (2) Starting from 2011, STUF has been a major sponsor of a Computer and Language Education Program (CLEP) in Cambodia. STUF has helped CLEP provide computer, English, and Chinese courses for children and youth in twelve locations. (3) STUF also cooperates with International Leadership Foundation (ILF) for its program that brings college students from Asia to the United States to learn about democracy and international affairs. Moreover, through our donor-advised fund, STUF is able to be a continuous supporter for Shin-Shin Education Foundation that builds schools in rural areas of China. (4) STUF has helped relief efforts of severe disasters around the world. In 2010, we sponsored a two-day free medical service project for the victims of Haiti earthquake. The project was organized and carried out by Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Dominic Republic. This project helped about 1,200 Haitians with basic health check-up and free medicine. In 2011, STUF responded to the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Eastern Japan. With the help of World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce, STUF was able to deliver financial aids directly to Miyagi Prefecture, one of the most hit areas. In spring 2012, STUF provided donation to help the relief effort of Flood disaster in Thailand and Philippine. Later in 2012, STUF cooperated with Queens Tribune, a New York local media, to send necessary winter clothing to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. STUF was also one of the supporters for the relief effort of Tzu-Chi Foundation, a well-known NGO with ECOSOC Consultative Status. (5) In 2012, STUF supported Chinese-American Academic and Professional Association in Southeastern US to host a conference with main topics on green energy and environmental protection. (6) Starting from 2011, STUF has been a major sponsor of Chopin’s Corner Foundation, a Houston-based organization that promotes culture and arts with a focus on classical music. STUF has also sponsored several community schools that promote Chinese culture in the Unites States. (7) STUF has established a NGO/NPO network that recruits affiliated organizations to share information and help promote each other. Many of the affiliates are the grantees of STUF. Through sponsorship and cooperation with affiliates, STUF can furthermore realize the mission of promoting good causes in various areas. Currently, STUF has 24 affiliates.
Description of the membership of the organization, indicating the total number of members: The members of the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America (TCCNA) are regarded automatically as the members of STUF. TCCNA has 38 chapters with over ten thousand individual or corporate membership altogether. All of the members are located in the United States or Canada.
