Law n 8,906 - Art. 45. The OAB’s agencies are the following: I - the Federal Council; II - the Sectional Councils;(Chapters) III - the Subsections;(Sub-Chapters) IV - the Attorney Assistance Funds. Paragraph 1 The Federal Council, endowed with its own corporate entity, headquartered in the capital of the Republic, is BBA’s supreme agency. Paragraph 2 The Sectional Councils, endowed of their own corporate entity, have jurisdiction over the respective territories of the Member States, Federal District and of the Territories. Paragraph 3 The Subsections are autonomous parts of the Sectional Council, in the form of this Law and of its constitutive act. Paragraph 4 The Attorney’s Assistance Funds, endowed with their own corporate entity, are created by the Sectional Councils when such Councils count on more than one-thousand five-hundred registered members. |

Exercising the attorney’s profession in the Brazilian territory and the denomination of attorney are exclusive to those registered at the Brazilian Bar Association. Four members of the governing body are federal counselors. |
