    Year of registration: 2007
    Organizational structure: The Fishermen is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation registered with the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State. The main section of The Fishermen is focused on child and women issues, education, humanitarian/medical aid, refugee care and resettlement, betterment of the lives of children with disabilities, improvement of the mental health system and care for the mentally disabled, and orphaned children. As of September, 2019, the Department of Veterinary Affairs was created which focuses on delivering medical supplies to vet clinics in impoverished and war-torn areas. This department is legally a part of The Fishermen but works independently of the main section in order to maximize efforts. The DVA will be coordinating with Food and Agriculture Organization if needed.
