    Organizational structure: Federation of Women Groups (FWG) is a national Non Governmental Organization (NGO) formed out of a coalition of two hundred and fifty (250) women self help groups. It was registered with the NGO Coordination Board in 1999 as a regional NGO operating in Nyamira District. FWG took a national outlook and was registered as a national NGO in the year 2004 under registration number OP.218/051/9830/1129 on 23rd Sept 2004. FWG is governed by its Members through a Board of Members that comprises of a Chairperson, Elected Board Members, Executive Director (Ex officio Member), Programmes Coordinator, Programmes Officers, Office Assistant, Field/Branch Officers and Volunteers. The Board is responsible for formulating and providing direction for the benefit of the organization. The Chairperson is responsible for the overall management of the organization, and provision of strategic leadership, coordination and implementation of activities to meet FWG’s objectives.
    Number and type of members: The Federation of Women Groups has grown to around 420 Women self Help Groups. In these groups we have Youth groups, self help groups and individual members
