    Year of registration: 1986
    Organizational structure: The EHPS is managed by an Executive Committe elected by the members every two years. Representation of a wide spread of European countries is an explicit aim of the Society and each country has an appointed national delegate. The President, the President Elect, the Secretary and the Treasurer/Membership Officer jointly constitute the Executive Committee, which is charged with the daily management of the Society and the execution of the resolutions of the Executive Committee
    Number and type of members: The members of the society are involved in basic and applied research, teaching in academic institutions, clinical work in medical settings, and health policy development. Many EHPS members consult with governmental and non-governmental institutions in their countries, such as Ministries of Health and Education, with the goal of improving the health status of their citizens. The EHPS and its members are also involved in international research and policy development collaborations, and their experience can contribute to the work of the NGO section of the United Nation’s DPI.
    Affiliation with NGO networks: The EHPS is affiliated to several United Nations institutions. With its focus on health, EHPS members have collaborated with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, UNDP, APA
