    Organizational structure: ACGC is a coalition comprised of Alberta-based organizations that are working in the field of global development and cooperation and global citizenship education. We are committed to international cooperation that is people-centred, democratic, just, inclusive, and respectful of the environment and indigenous cultures. We work towards ending poverty and achieving a peaceful and healthy world, with dignity and full participation for all.Members of the Council pursue these goals through supporting global citizenship programs and participatory projects with international partners. The Council’s goal is to support the work of its members through networking, leadership, information sharing, training and coordination, and represents their interests when dealing with government and others. The objectives of the Council are to promote and mobilize greater Albertan participation in assisting international development.
    Number and type of members: Currently, our coalition consists of 53 member organizations and 19 individual members that include both Alberta-based civil society organizations, educational institutions, and national organizations that have chapters based in Alberta. The Council works to mobilize the Albertan public as global citizens in global development and cooperation through generating awareness, providing program opportunities, and encouraging action to support greater understanding and participation. ACGC has been convening and supporting public engagement and education activities that help Albertans develop awareness and understanding of global issues for over 30 years.
