Purpose of the organization: |
1\ To promote and empower women, socially, economically and politically. 2\To protect women’s attained constitutional rights. 3\To reinforce women’s voice for the attainment of their unrecognized rights. 4\To improve the welfare of women and children and to achieve substantial reduction of mother and neonatal mortality rates. 5\To raise women awareness about infectious and sexually transmitted diseases, to protect themselves. 6\To participate in peace building and dissemination of its culture. 7\To reduce women illiteracy and to educate women in religious and civic affairs. 8\ To initiate the formation of specialized societies and collaborate with the existing specialized centers and institutions that help in promoting and empowering women |

SWGU has 26 main branches in different parts of Sudan the branches extended from grass- roots(In five specialized base societies) up to the national level the total number of branches and sub-branches is 27000 it's membership exceed 5000000 women, SWGU is networking with 83 national organizations. |
