Recently, Shell Petroleum was looking for NGOs in Lagos State to work with and they sent us an email and requested for our Organizational Profile, that our name was given to them by "Nigerian Network of NGOs" a net work organization we are affiliated with. (This is the power of Affiliation) and it is one thing every organization should hold.

Advancement of Women

Affiliation with other organizations: Treasureland Health Builders Initiative is a youth led organization managed by a woman as the founder/project Director and out of the 5 members of the board of Directors, 4 are women. We therefore, take issues pertaining to women very seriously. We are affiliated with the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and many other organizations working on women and girls. We have executed many projects on women in partnership with Mary Unachukwu Foundation, Idea Builders and we have done several project also with Women Affairs of Lagos State because 'when you save a woman, you saved a nation'. Women in Nigeria are marginalized from birth, girl child is not sent to school or empowered like the boys and when they grow up and and get married, if eventually their husbands dies, her brother in-law will emerge to monopolize all the properties of their brother leaving nothing for the woman and children and because the woman is not empowered or educated she lives on to suffer with her children. Women don't take part in economic, political or social activities like the men. Presently we have built the capacity of more than 1000 women on ICT, trained about 2100 women on Hat/Bid and Soap making. 30% are gainfully employed and 48% started small scale businesses. Recently, In partnership with Idea Builders, 60 women took a walk round Ikorodu Local Government and mentoring each other.(Woman helping another woman to succeed)
