The indigenous peoples represnted in our organisation are the native rural women,men and the youth in the local communities of East Adansi District of Ashanti Region of Ghana. Their main worried situation is their property rights against land privitisation,that is right based on cuiture, by the national government.The move towards privitisation of land in these local coomunities has proved an unhappy experience for many indigenous groups who were traditional landowners. In the rural communities of East Adansi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana,the system has led to conflicts with and hostility towards the new owners,who often show no interest in preserving their natural resources for future generations. |
