Accreditation to: Indigenous Forum
Affiliation with other organizations: urban and inter-tribal peoples and migration and trans-populations due to unfair economic trade agreements. The populations of Indigenous peoples trans-migrateing across the western hemispheric continents with many gathering in large metropolitan cities, specially in the USA.
Purpose of the organization: As an Inter-Tribal Treaty and Human Rights organization AIM-West raises awareness on the Right to Self-Determination and issues that concern or impact upon Indians of the Americas on a daily basis, including the implementation of the United Nations “Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples” adopted by the General Assembly on September 13, 2007. Through strategic use of multiple media channels, hosting cultural events and critical dialogues, AIM-West lifts the voice and visibility of Indigenous peoples, facilitates civic engagement and promotes the diversity of Indigenous peoples throughout the Americas and Pacific region.
