Certified Public Accountants - Auditors - GlaxoSmithKline SA - INFOTE – INFORMATION FOR ALL SA The aim of the Greek Road Safety Institute Panos Mylonas is “to raise the awareness and sensitivity of citizens, and to mobilize all public and private Bodies to action in order to alter the situation which makes Greece very high ranking in fatalities due to road accidents, resulting in the deaths of mostly young people” RSI Panos Mylonas has already achieved a considerable contribution to road safety and social matters in Greece as a Non Governmental Organization under a continuous collaboration with Public Authorities, Academic Institutions and the private sector. RSI Panos Mylonas is represented in the National Committee of Road Safety in Greece and is an active member of the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC). The catalyst for the establishment of the Road Safety Institute was the tragic death of Panos Mylonas in a car crash caused by another driver. Panos Mylonas, a 22-year-old University student in the Faculty of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering and a journalist in car magazines at the same time, respected and appreciated the real values of life; he was a person of outstanding academic performance, with excellent ethical values and was very talented in car journalism and technology. It is hoped that Panos’ love and respect for real values in life will be a motivation so that road safety conditions will improve in our country contributing to the reduction of the number of road accidents, fatalities and heavy injuries in Greece. This will be brought about through the activities of the Institute, the support of the founding members, other Organizations and companies that have already joined the efforts with an active role as members of the Institute, supporting the road safety activities as well as increasing the sensitivity of the society and mobilizing other Organizations to action.
