Purpose of the organization: • To provide effective and efficient confidential, safe and integrated support services to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence and child abuse. • To reach out to Countries in Africa that may need WIDO services. • To expand and strengthen public and institutional education and sensitization on prevention, causes, incidents and impacts of sexual and gender-based violence, including Domestic Violence. • To work with other organizations with similar interests to continue engaging in advocacy. • To economically and socially empower women to come out of extreme poverty that is usually the main course of gender base violence in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: 1. Organised 22 number, 'Women Entrepreneurship Training" took place at 3 selected communities in Nigeria of Anambra, Enugu states and Abuja. 2. WIDO Advocacy Day biannual event since 2012 where WIDO create awareness on national/global issues affecting women. 3. WIDOs leaders workshop this is a workshop where WIDO build capacity of community leaders on women gender related issues. 4. Developed strategies for advocating for gender mainstreaming in agriculture and rural development by encouraging community leaders to provide farming land to women. We are also negotiating on getting bulk faming land for women cooperatives. 5. Undertaking analytical research on gender-related matters targeted towards poverty alleviation in line with actualization of sustainable development Goals to be used in our advocacy programmes and leaders workshop. 6. Provide technical advice to women groups and organizations on how to address issues of Gender base violence and economic empowerment. 7. Provide counselling services to victims of GBV and temporally short term shelter for victims. 8. Keeps abreast of key development issues, to build specialized knowledge and use lessons learned from national programme to develop knowledge products to strengthen gender related issues, and create awareness on innovative approaches to gender issues and women's empowerment. 9. Forges partnerships with government, CSOs, academia and the private sector on gender mainstreaming issues; inter-agency networks, maintaining particularly close liaison with other gender related agencies. 10. Participate in both local and international forums to keep abreast with current gender issues and to network with other practitioners. Description of the membership of the organization, indicating the total number of members: Membership is open to any interested person or institution who have the interest of women and children at heart, who because of their difficult position in the society, necessitated the formation of this organisation. WIDO has two categorise of membership. 1. Financial Members: Financial members pay dues and support the organisation financially. They form part of the management organ of the organisation. They are 160 in number 2. Non-financial Members: these are mostly the indigent and poor women that benefits from the organisation services. Total number of non-financial members is 1,563 members
