CORPROGRESO is a Non-Governmental Organization for research, sustainable development and social promotion, aiming at improving Colombian vulnerable communities’ well-being and quality of life. It relies on the participation of experts in design, evaluation and implementation of efficient and sustainable social development programs, which are consistent with State national policies and the population’s needs and aim at the organization’s sustainability. |

ACTIVITIES AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL a)MAIN KINDS OF ACTIVITIES: 1. PROJECTS FOR SUSTAINABLE SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, COMMUNITY AND PRODUCTIVE DEVELOPMENT: Corprogreso design and implement researches to identify population groups’ problems and to plan new alternatives, designed in a participative way, aiming at improving their living conditions. The programs have the objective of reducing poverty rates, by meeting basic needs and building environmental responsibility and consciousness. Example: support and training to rural families that replaced their illicit cultivations with licit alternatives. Example: support, training and seed capital to internally displaced persons for income generation. 2. “INSTITUCIONALIZACION” PROJECTS: Facing the problem of vulnerable population’s marginalization, Corprogreso realizes programs aiming at social inclusion, providing services in the following areas: psychology, psychiatry, accommodation, food, leisure activity. Example: Support to former members of armed group for their reinsertion in the civil society, within the framework of the “farm model” where the beneficiaries’ basic needs are satisfied and they are trained about agriculture, livestock, etc. 3. VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT: Corprogreso train vulnerable population so that they can develop income generation activities. Training about social and business organization, self-management, etc. b)TARGETED POPULATION: Internally Displaced Persons Children and young people at high risk. Community leaders. Single mothers. Community mothers. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Indigenous population. Persons in the process of reintegration into society. Rural families.
