Purpose of the organization: The purpose the organization is to building and Strengthening Women and youths in sustainable development to live a peaceful and healthier environment and to enjoy their reproductive rights.
Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: GIWYN uses a programmatic approach with all her activities and actions; we connect members and, build knowledge, organize campaigns and share resources. GIWYN works to realize the full sexual and reproductive health and rights of all people in local communities, with a particular focus on the most marginalized grassroots women including women with disabilities to contribute towards the realization of our overall goal of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for rural women and youths. In order to achieve our goal, we promote the implementation of SRHR within the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Program of Action (PoA) and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In particular, we work with MDG 5b (Universal Access to Reproductive Health) and then strengthen it by linking it with the other MDG Such education, a programmatic structure allows GIWYN to be strategically focused and approach the overreaching goal in a holistic manner. We connect our rural women's issues to the global world to find solutions and strengthen our network, We Participate in Women Global Network for Reproductive Rights ‘s call for action against poverty, early marriage and child bearing, HIV/Aids, abortion, and reproductive and social injustice. We have engaged on research work to find out that the unmet needs of women and youths are not questions of overpopulation but of social reforms and increasing social amenities. We went to the media in 2009 to sensitize the public and the government on these issues .We organized seminars to educate women and youths on the need for contraceptive use In 2011 Giwyn organized a conference to mark African Women’s Health .In the conference the women identified violence as one of challenges: Such violence as sexual assault, human trafficking, Female genital mutilation, Early Marriage, Stigmatization and discrimination of young girls with unwanted pregnancy. These are linked with sexual and reproductive health .
