1. TRAINING TEACHERS WORKSHOPS ON CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION:

3. TEACHERS NETWORK:
The Network of Civic and Peace Education Teachers was formed to coordinate and mobilise teachers for the school project. The Teachers meets twice a team.
4. PEACE CLUBS:
Students are members of the Peace clubs. This is an avenue for the students to learn conflict transformation and be peer mediators. Currently, the centre has formed Peace Clubs in 43 schools in Rivers and Delta States.
5. PEACE CAMP:
The centre organised a peace camp for students from Delta & Rivers States. The camp did provide an atmosphere of friendship for students to learn and practice conflict transformation.

6. TRADITIONAL CONFLICT PREVENTION & MANAGEMENT IN THE NIGER DELTA
Six training workshops were held for Emohua, Ikwerre and Ahoada East Local Governments. The vision is to strengthen traditional Mechanism for conflict resolutions. About 500 persons have been trained.

7. NGO CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON NON VIOLENT CHANGE
The centre in collaboration with the International Centre for Non Violence organised a capacity building workshops for NGO’s in Rivers State. There 40 members of civic society in attendance.

8. VOTERS EDUCATION PROGRAMME IN 6 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN RIVERS STATE
The activities to achieve this project include the following: Workshops on Voters Education, Community meeting organizing and use of technology, Street Theatre, Radio outreach and Democracy fair. It is expected that with successful completion of this projects communities in Rivers State will appreciate and participate in voters’ registration and other electoral processes especially youths, first time voters, women and living in rural and semi rural areas. |
