Involvement in UN Partnerships: Yes
If yes, explain in detail: In 2020 a partnership between United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Alana Institute was formed to increase the reach and impact of the socio-environmental agenda promoted by the United Nations through communication, awareness and engagement actions focused on the general public and, specifically, on children and youth, their families and educators. The specific goals are: a) engage children and youth, their families and educators on the conservation of the environment, through communication products, workshops and events, and sustainable production and consumption practices; b) promote and disseminate knowledge on the World Environment Day and on the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration; c) Leverage synergic campaign activities on plastic pollution. Also, the partnership forecast to provide technical and communication support on air quality and its impacts on children, to propose joint activities and events within the scope of key themes for the year, flagged by UNEP, to propose joint activities and events within the scope of the Clean Seas and the World Environment Day Campaigns.

Purpose of the organization: Alana Institute is Brazilian a social and environmental impact organization that promotes children's rights and their integral development. The Alana Institute is a non-profit civil society organisation that works for the promotion and protection of the children's rights, seeking to safeguard the necessary conditions for the integral experience of childhood through its programs. Founded in 1994 and supported by an endowment fund since 2013, the Alana Institute’s mission is to “honor children”.
