If yes, explain in detail: The center for Development Support initiatives does work with the UN on several platforms. One of the platform is on Community Based Biodiversity Project.The focus is to pursue the conservation of biodiversity in the Niger Delta region specifically in Eleme Local Government Area and most importantlyprepare it as a potential world heritage site. After a successfuly first phase of the project,here are top 5 reccomendations to guide the next phase of the partnership. The POLICY LEVEL RECCOMENDATIONS FOR CBAB AGBARA-ONURA FOREST 2016-2020 The first phase of the CBAB project has come and gone with remarkable results (see report on key achievement). The Information, Education and Advocacy process has yielded reasonable results. This has led to the communities advocating for the continuation of the next phase of the project. This is supported with the backup letter from the community expressing their desire to partner in the continuation and sustainability of the project (see attached). All stakeholders from Government, Companies, Communities, Civil society and Traditional Rulers have expressed their desires to partner on the projects continuity. See below specific recommendations drawn into a work plan for review and approval. CBAP FOR AGBARA-ONURA FOREST 2016-2020 WORK PLAN All activities are proposed to be done in collaboration with UNDP-BAP and other Stakeholders. S/N ACTIVITY RESPONSIBLE 1 Further engagement of Oil and Gas Companies as well as other corporate entities in the area to obtain a buy-in with regard to Biodiversity project. Steps with NNPC and Oil Companies Industry has commenced CEDSI, Ministry of culture and Tourism,Ministry of Agriculture,Oil and gas free zone ,Indorama, Petroleum product and marketing Company,Intels,PH Refining Company,First bank,Zenith bank,Unity bank,Eco bank,Eleme Local Eleme,etc 2016 Multi .Meeting proposed for June 2nd 2016 for continued discours on partnership and projects sustainability 2 Commence actual head count of Biodiversity in the forest for documentation. CEDSI, Partners, Nature Conservancy Conservation International, Community Conservation Patners 2016 multi For appropriate document of actual Biodiversity resources quantitatively. 3a 3b Expand community advocacy and awareness process. Introduce the Club17 Africa eco green clubs in host secondary and primary schools CEDSI CEDSI 2016 2016 multi To ensure eco green and biodiversity messages reach the youths and children for early participation 4 Commencement of Agbara-Onura forest survey, registration and issuance of C of O. Purpose of the organization: CEDSI Nigeria is focused on building a greener and healthier society for humankind through its core activities covering Health Education Environment and Partnesrhip Development . Our key targets are to address the core needs of vulnerable stakeholders through our various activities such as being members of the Rivers state Social Development Trust Fund
Activities relevant to the conference of States Parties to the convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: We currently have set up the Rivers state Social services Contributory Trust fund to support the rights of vulnerables and non vulnerable people alike through various social development projects and programs In that light we carried out all the listed activities in the work plan below Objective 1.
