Involvement in UN Partnerships: Yes
If yes, explain in detail: The Global Sourcing Council has engaged in a collaboration between our organization and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) in 2008 - 2010. This collaboration been focused on the matrix of applications of Information Computer Technologies (ICT's) for achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDG's). Please review the attached supplemental documents to learn more about this. The Global Sourcing Council is in the process of joining the Global Compact as a Not-for-Profit Network Partner. The organizational members of Global Sourcing Council will receive all necessary information and support to join the Global Compact. At the present time there are 3 Global Sourcing Council members who are in the process of applying to Global Compact; the goal is to attract 100 Global Sourcing Council global members to the Global Compact.
Affiliation with other organizations: We are affiliated with the Ethical Sourcing Forum, the World BPO/ITO Forum, and the Governance and Accountability Institute.
Publications: We have a digital publication and newsletter known as the The Source. It is sent out to recipients on our electronic mailing list and can be found on the website www.gscouncil.org. Since 2012, it has been a monthly publication. Currently, it is being redesigned to reflect our social media savvy audience.

Social Development

Affiliation with other organizations: We are affiliated with Social Accountability International.
Publications: We have a digital publication and newsletter known as the The Source. It is sent out to recipients on our electronic mailing list of about 20,000 people globally and it can also be found on the website www.gscouncil.org. Since 2012, it has been a monthly publication. Currently, it is being redesigned to reflect our social media savvy audience.
Purpose of the organization: The GSC is a non-profit organization focused on sustainable, socially responsible sourcing practices. Through research, publications, education and dialogue, the GSC promotes an understanding of roles and impact of all stakeholders in global trade in goods and services.
Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: The flagship Global Sourcing Council awards program, introduced in 2009, promotes best practices in sustainable and socially responsible global sourcing. Description of the membership of the organization, indicating the total number of members: We have Community Members, Individual Members, and Organizational Members. Community Members are voluntary individuals that participate in our activities through digital media, the website, social media and events. If they do not pay dues, they do not have voting rights. Individual Members are those that pay dues and thus have voting rights. Organizational Members pay organizational dues and depending on the level of their membership can have a certain amount of individual members. The Global Sourcing Council has approximately 20,000 members globally.

Advancement of Women

Affiliation with other organizations: We are partners with the Trestle Group Foundation. We collaborate on their 20/20 program which aims at providing mentoring services to 20,000 women entrepreneurs in developing countries by the year 2020.
