ACTIVITIES In 6 LGAs Etsako West, Esan West, Oredo, Egor, Ikpoba Okha and Ovia North East with BBFSW &NBBFSW on MPPI Intervention. We were able to advocate to the FWSS communities on the knowledge of the project and what the project is all about. We established good relationship with the chairladies, managers and brothel owners enabled GWSD’s successful intervention. Staff and volunteers trained on the rudiments of the project, to ensure efficiency / productivity and all achieved. We introduced PrEP to the intervention process & interested key population persons referred to cluster centers. In course of our project, we carried out research on 'The Effectiveness of Condom use and adherence as a preventive tool for HIV/STIs among key population in the 6 LGAs in Edo State, Nigeria with a proposed target of 1250 Female Who Sell Sex (FWSS) for the 4 months duration of the project. We conducted condom use and adherence sensitization training for the peers among others during their training sessions after which the study was conducted using questionnaire survey which was paper based. The project took 4 month from entry, through intensive and exit phase. 1018 BBFSW & 250 NBBFSW met with MPPI Research Observations The research on ‘The Effectiveness of Condom use and adherence as a preventive tool for HIV/STIs among key population in 6 LGAs in Edo State, Nigeria with a total of 1268 Female Who Sell Sex (FWSS-BB/NB). Questionnaires administered on 1268 Female Who Sell Sex(FWSS), analyzed and results re-affirmed the need for the provision, promotion of condom use and adherence among key population (FWSS-BB/NB) to reduce new HIV infection as to enable us all meet the 90:90:90 target by 2020. Recommendation The male and female latex condom is the single, most efficient, available technology to reduce the sexual transmission of HIV and prevent unintended pregnancy.  The search for new preventive and treatment technologies such as Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PReP), HIV Vaccines, Microbicides and Male Hormonal Contraceptives continue to make progress, but condoms will remain a key component of combination prevention strategies individuals can choose at different times in their lives to reduce their risks of sexual exposure to HIV, other STI and prevent unwanted pregnancies.
