Purpose of the organization: To respond to the HIV and AIDS epidemic from a human rights perspective, based on the principles of solidarity, social justice and democracy
Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: At the national level, the organization advocates for the rights of people living with HIV/Aids through the promotion of civil society participation in decision-making processes, the design and implementation of rights-based policies, the call for sustainability, transparency and accountability of public policies and bodies, and the use of denounces, litigation and social mobilization tools to advance the public interest.The organization also organizes events, publications, trainings and activities aimed at democratizing access to knowledge, building coalitions and contributing with public debate and empowerment of affected populations. At the regional level, the organization articulates policy strategies with other partner organizations in Latin America and the Global South with a view on responding to the epidemic in those regions. Internationally, the organization uses multilateral mechanisms and organizations to denounce or advance issues related to the Brazilian and worldwide realities of the epidemic, as well as participating in spaces for reflection, policy debate and coalition building.
