The Environmental Compliance Institute has been granted Accreditation as an Observer to the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) – the Governing Body of UN Environment. The Accreditation was effected on 28th July 2016 following a successful application by ECI to the UNEA Secretariat. ECI participates as an observer to all public meetings and sessions of UNEA and its subsidiary organs. In the processes leading up to sessions of the UNEA ECI receives unedited working documents of the UNEA at the same time as the Committee of the Permanent Representatives and has had the opportunity to submit to the UNEP Secretariat written contributions to these unedited working documents of the UNEA for distribution to the Governments. In addition, ECI designates its representatives to sit as observers at public meetings of UNEA and its subsidiary organs. |
