The Human Rights Support Center, which is responsible for implementing two protection policies, namely the Program for the Protection of Victims and Witnesses in the State of Espírito Santo and the Program for the Protection of Children Threatened from Death, operates in a network with several human rights entities in Brazil for the protection of these people. we also work on the formation of human rights in the state of Espírito Santo. |
| Purpose of the organization: |
The Valdício Barbosa dos Santos Human Rights Support Center aims to defend, promote, mobilize, research and educate for Human Rights and Social Assistance. It also has the following mission: 1 - Assemble people for the defense and promotion of human rights: social, civil, political, cultural, economic and environmental within the State; 2 - Defend and promote Human Rights, through programs and actions, as well as support ethnic groups and socially discriminated groups; 3 - Develop actions to protect the family, children, adolescents and youth, the elderly, people with disabilities and traditional communities; 4 - Develop self-sustaining economic activities, through the production of promotional materials, publications and others. 5 - To develop activities of research and education in Human Rights; 6 - To defend free and quality public education, local and regional culture and human and social development; 7 - Propose programs and public policies in the area of justice, security, education, social assistance and health; 8 - To stimulate the elaboration, development, implementation and monitoring of the State Program of Human Rights and Municipal Human Rights Programs; 9 - To accompany the State Human Rights Council in its activities; 10 - Support the creation of Municipal Councils of Human Rights; 11 - Stimulate the creation of Human Rights Defense Centers; 12 - Advise governmental and non-governmental bodies in the area of Human Rights; 13 - Establish agreements, Terms of Partnership and Technical Cooperation with national and international governmental and nongovernmental organizations; 14 - To receive, without charge for the entity, employees of governmental or non-governmental bodies, within the terms of agreements and terms of partnership and technical cooperation. 15 - Propose public civil actions of diffuse and collective rights that are related to the objective of the entity; 16 - Propose actions for the defense and guarantee of Human Rights, in exemplary cases, before the national and international courts. 17 - Propose actions on gender and ethnicity issues. |
