Major group affiliation:
  • Children and youth
  • Non-governmental organization
Involvement in UN Partnerships: Yes
If yes, explain in detail: ProFuturo Foundation is a partner of the Global Education Coalition (GEC) owing to its collaboration with Global Learning House (GLH) providing free supplementary educational resources for recovery programmes to mitigate the lost learning resulting from COVID-19. Also, through its participation in the Global Teacher Campus (GTC), an online campus that provides teachers and educators with resources to improve their knowledge and teaching practices using information and communication technologies (ICT). From 2021, ProFuturo is working with UNHCR to improve the quality of education for refugee children and the host community in Rwanda, benefiting more than 13,000 children and more than 300 teachers in the first year. In 2022, and facing the growing number of refugee population, as well as the challenge of the forgotten crisis, ProFuturo has expanded once more its commitment to implement its Digital Education Programme in Nigeria and Zimbabwe, together with UNHCR. ProFuturo also collaborates with ITU.
Affiliation with other organizations: ProFuturo has built a solid system of partnerships with local, global, and educational partners: Implementation or local partners: well established organisations in the communities in which ProFuturo works. They are key actors on the management and implementation of the programme and contribute to the understanding of local needs, and actively participate in the Monitoring and Evaluation of the programme, in order to make continuous improvement. These local partners are usually local NGOs or international organisations with local branches but can also be governmental bodies (such as national or regional ministries and/or departments of Education). Public institutions help ProFuturo scaling its innovation at national level working towards a system change at big scale. They are also key state-holders in the search for the sustainability of the project over time. Global Partners and multilateral organisations. These types of allies help ProFuturo on the positioning of digital education in the global agenda. Educational partners. These complement ProFuturo’s educational offer. ProFuturo has evolved its Partnerships’ Strategy over the years moving from a model composed of a great ample number of local partners and agreements, to a different model of partnerships with large organizations and consortiums, in which ProFuturo intervenes as expert/provider of concrete knowledge and/or resources, being part of the co-design of bigger projects.
