Involvement in UN Partnerships: Yes
If yes, explain in detail: Pan African Climate Justice Alliance is an observer at the UN major groups and stakeholders where the alliance positions herself to influence decisions mostly affecting Africa as a region on matters climate governance and environmental management. Similarly, PACJA sits at the CLIM-DEV board with a mandate of ensuring that the allocated funds are responsive to the African Communities' needs as far as climate resilience and sustainable development are concerned. PACJA; being an accredited entity by the United Nations Convention on Climate Change as well as the United Nations Environment Programme; facilitates the accreditation of other stakeholders; in partnership with the aforementioned; in such instances as the conference of parties, Africa Ministerial Conference on Environment as well as the Africa Climate Change and Development Conferences (CCDA).

Publications: Pan African Climate Justice Alliance in her operations over the decades have built alliances and partnership with key networks, intergovernmental organizations as well as research institutions including but not limited to the World Bank, the Sierra Club, Pan Africa Parliament, the Southern Africa Development Community (SADAC), East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA), East Africa Community (EAC), ECOWAS, COMESA, ECCAS as the building blocks for the African Union. Similarly, the Alliance has both soft and signed memoranda of understanding with key research institutions including the Wangari Mathai Institute, University of Nairobi, Embu University, Kenyatta University, Water Aid amongst other research institutions with the purpose of enacting the evidence-based advocacy component of the Alliance's work.

Social Development

Affiliation with other organizations: Pan African Climate Justice Alliance being social development, policy and advocacy organization have over the past decade built relationships with strategic social development networks, intergovernmental organizations, and research institutions including the World Bank, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the Africa Union through her building blocks, Netherlands Development Organization, Fredrich - Ebert Stiftung, Sierra Club, CIGAR amongst other partners in promoting social development not only in Africa but also across the other continents.

Purpose of the organization: Formed in the past decade with a vision of achieving a global environment free from the threat of climate change, conscious of sustainable development, equity, and justice, the Alliance; Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA); aims to develop and promote pro-poor development and equity-based positions relevant for Africa in the international climate change dialogue and related processes
Activities relevant to the conference of States Parties to the convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: The Alliance has worked with VSO - Jitollee on an initiative to bridge the gaps and realize a better response mechanism for climate change impacts amongst the people with disability in Kenya
Confirmation of the activities of the organization at the regional, national or international level: Social development is partly the backbone of the work of the Alliance. Consequently, the alliance has; since its establishment; undertaken on a quarterly and annual basis program activities to support social development as follows; - Engagement with pastoral communities to input on to the local and national level policy processes - Development of contingency plans - for funding - at the local level arid and semi-arid areas of Kenya - Engagement with the women-led community-based CSOs to propagate proper land management and planning for climate resilience in the East African level - Mobilization of the Kenyan Civil Society Organizations to embrace and support clean and renewable energy amongst other climate resilience initiatives - Engagement with the private sector to support climate governance and resilience across the African continent - Supporting the actualization of sustainable development through the mobilization of CSOs across the East African region to implement the pentagoals (SDG 1, 2, 7, 13 and 14) - Engagement with the country-level government and CSOs to implement and track climate finance - Supporting local level governments and platforms to innovate for climate resilience and livelihood improvement

Description of the membership of the organization, indicating the total number of members: Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) is the largest consortium in Africa consisting of members drawn from grassroots community-based organizations, fisher groups, marginalized and pastoral communities, academia, research institutions, faith-based organizations, trust foundations, indigenous communities, farmers and as well as non-governmental organizations championing for proper climate resilience and governance as well as sustainable environmental and natural resource management. The Alliance has a diverse membership of over 1000 civil society and other lobby groups aforementioned drawn from over 42 African countries engaging on a day to day basis on matters climate change governance, environmental management as well as sustainable development.

Affiliation with other organizations: Given the consortia membership approach of the Alliance; Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA); works very closely with women-led organizations including the Isiolo Gender Watch, FEMNET amongst others in spearheading climate resilience and dialogues amongst women

Major group affiliation: Indigenous People
Affiliation with other organizations: The Alliance; PACJA; in an effort to ensure reduced emissions through deforestation and forest degradation in contribution to the realization of the internationally determined contribution (limiting temperatures below 1.5 degrees Celcius) collaborates with the World Bank and sits at the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility with a mandate of observing, contributing and submitting views from the African Civil Society and lobby organizations to the board for action.
Affiliation with UN bodies: Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) sits at the board of the UNDP national REDD+ steering committee for Kenya with a mandate of ensuring local and community-based CSOs participation and contribution to the entire process.
Publications: Participation of the civil society organizations in the REDD+ processes in Cote D'viour, Mozambique, and Cameroon. Transforming energy for a clean and sustainable future in Africa.
